This website said that Mary Cassatt's parents wanted their children to experience artwork, when another website said that her parents were against her becoming an artist.
SO CONFUSING. I need to look through a lot more websites to see what's going on.
Don't worry, at this point, about whether her parents supported her art or not, but rather what was going on in the time and place of her creations? What was Mary's world like? The cultural context?
